Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is considering an audacious move to sign Man United midfielder Michael Carrick. The White Hart Lane boss is looking to bring in some experienced heads to help boost his ever improving side and feels he may be able to persuade the former Spurs man to make the move back to north London.
Having taken Tottenham from a relegation battle to the Champions League in a relatively short space of time Redknapp is looking to bring in another high profile player to his squad to help boost the chances of another crucial top four finish and with that in mind has earmarked a move for England international Carrick.
The 29 year old midfielder has found first team opportunities hard to come by and has only started six Premier League matches this season and could be tempted by a move back to Tottenham if he felt that he would be guaranteed first team football.
Sir Alex Ferguson would probably not stand in Michael Carrick’s way if he wished to leave the club and a move for the experienced Gateshead born star would cost around £10-12m, a fee that Tottenham would easily manage to finance.
